Dewars Centre boasts an eight rink indoor bowling arena which is world class.  The original concrete floor was renewed in September 1998, with a state of the art timber floor, and new carpet bringing this facility up to world standard.

Continuing the commitment to Junior Sports, Dewars Centre was instrumental in forming the Scottish Young Indoor Bowlers Association, which was constituted on Sunday 31 January 1999.  We have 32 indoor bowling clubs who have registered with SYIBA, since the SYIBA began.  The association has had 5 very successful competitions i.e. Dales Fours tournament and the National Qualifiers, the upper age for the Scottish Young Indoor Bowlers Association being sixteen years.

The Junior Bowls Coaching is very vibrant having advanced from numbers 8/10 three years ago, to a top of 32 at this present time.   We now have various age groups ranging from 7 to 10 year olds who are taught be 3 coaches, using mini-sized bowls, to facilitate the problem of small hands.

The older age groups are controlled by 4 coaches and a close watch is kept on each individual's progress.

Coaching is held on Saturday mornings from 9am - 11am for beginners and 11am - 1pm for the more advanced, the cost is £0.75 for two hours.  A Junior Membership is available (under 18's) and can be purchased for £12.00.  This entitles you to free practices and games throughout the season.

Within Perth Indoor Bowling Club, there are three sections, ladies Section, Senior Mens section and Gents Section, all of, which, have various competitions running throughout the season including some mixed competitions.   The indoor bowling season runs from September to April every year.  For those bowlers who prefer a friendly non-competitive game of bowls a bowling hat night is organised every Saturday from 6.30pm - 8.30pm.  Rinks can also be booked for friendly bounce games.

The Scottish International 2008 takes place here from 7th - 15th November.  All the world's top international bowlers including World Champion Alex Marshall, Commonwealth Champion Kelvin Kerkow and World No.1 David Gourlay.  Tickets on sale now!!!
